After suffering three
straight home loses, the
Drinkateers opened their
three game road trip on
a high note, capturing
an 56-49 decision over
the Highsmen. It was the
first win in four games
for the Drinkateers,
which improved to 1-3
overall and 1-0 as a
road team.
The
Drinkateers shot a solid
52.3 percent from the
field, including a
6-of-10 performance from
downtown, as they
defeated the Highsmen
this past weekend. The
Drinkateers also
connected on 10-of-17 at
the foul line despite
suffering a 24-18
disadvantage on the
boards. Edmund Enriquez
led the charge with 21
points, 2 steals and 5
rebounds. Lem Rosete
also had a solid outing
as he finished with 16
points, 4 threes and 3
rebounds.
This season
Edmund Enriquez tops the
Drinkateers' roster
in scoring
at 16.3 ppg along with
4.0 apg. Fellow teammate
Lem Rosete has also been
effective this season as
he checks in with 12.5
ppg along with an
impressive team leading
3.5 threes per game.
Michael Suragairin
pitches in with 6.0 ppg
and 4.0 rpg, while
Maurice Sims, the team's
leading rebounder at 7.3
rpg, adds 2.0 ppg to the
equation. As a team
the Drinkateers are
averaging 46.8 ppg while
allowing 52.2 ppg to the
opposition.
As
for the Pineapple
Express, they are coming
off a narrow 39-37
setback to team Young &
Dangerous last Tuesday.
The defeat was the
second in a row and
third in four games, as
the Pineapple Express
moved to 1-3 overall
while posting a 1-3
record as the home team.
The
Pineapple Express got a
big night from
Jeric Camia
in the recent loss to
Young & Dangerous, as he
scored a season high 18
points while connecting
on 2-of-4 from three
point range.
Allan Camia
added 7 points and 4
boards, while
Chuck Camia
finished with 7 points
and 2 rebounds. Trailing
20-14 at the break, the
Express opened the
second half with a 14-9
run in the first
twelve minutes. However,
the Express was unable
to close the gap despite
out-scoring team Young &
Dangerous, 23-19 at the
end of regulation.
For
the season, the
Pineapple Express is
averaging 34.3 ppg while
allowing 42.2 ppg to the
opposition.
Their are two players
averaging double digits
as Jeric Camia
is
the team's top scoring
option at 12.3 ppg while
shooting 43.9 percent
from the floor. Allan
Camia,
who has been a solid
attribute for the team,
scoring double digits in
each of the club's last
three outings
while averaging 11.3 ppg
along with a team best
4.3 rpg. As a team, the
Pineapple Express is
averaging 2.8 threes per
game while shooting 48%
(22-of-46) from the
charity line.
